CLE Days engage families and build community beyond the summer months. We routinely offer fun educational experiences during out-of-school days observed by Illinois School District 60.  Past excursions have included Volo Bog, Illinois Beach State Park, Chicago Botanic Gardens, and Skokie Lagoons. Students have also taken seasonal visits to Greenbelt Forest Preserve and Lake Forest Open Lands.  Outdoor adventures have included sledding (a fan favorite), building igloos, and lots of free play. Students have enjoyed birdwatching courtesy of representatives of the Lake County Audubon Society and even built a four-person wooden canoe!  Other partners have provided stewardship opportunities such as preparing for the spring planting season, garden clean-ups, and maintaining our on-site compost bins. Check out our social media for upcoming days to learn and play!
